New 100.5-Proof Straight Bourbon Available Across Belfour’s Footprint of 12 States and Growing
DALLAS – Belfour Spirits, an ultra-premium spirits producer led by Hockey Hall of Famer Ed Belfour, announced today the release of its Small Batch Straight Bourbon Whiskey to its award-winning portfolio of whiskey known as The Spirit of Champions™.
A true Small Batch – made up of a collection of 95 barrels – the Straight Bourbon is a one-time release across its distribution footprint of 12 states and growing. The Belfours have other Small Batch releases planned for future years, always giving fans new whiskey to explore.

In true Belfour Spirits attention to detail, the Small Batch Straight Bourbon was bottled precisely at 100.5 proof (50.25% ALC/VOL) and has a mash bill of 60% corn, 30% wheat and 10% malted barley.
Profile:
Appearance: Medium amber
Nose: Freshly made caramel, wildflower honey, gardenia and hints of mulling spices
Taste: A creamy coating of caramel, chocolate, hazelnut and pecan
Finish: Honey graham cracker, candied orange peel, sweet pipe tobacco and light peppermint
Known for their hands-on involvement, Ed and his children – Dayn and Reaghan – distilled the spirit at Southern Distilling in Statesville, N.C, where they aged the bourbon for three years in new American white oak barrels. The Belfours’ believe their preference for Northern oak contribute to the spirit’s unique flavor.
The Small Batch Straight Bourbon is packaged in the Belfour decanter-like bottle and features gold labels with black branding accents. The whiskey was bottled in Harrodsburg, Ky.
The Belfour’s Small Batch release is its second major product to rollout since its launch to consumers in October 2019 with three products:
- 92-proof Bourbon Whiskey Finished With Texas Pecan Wood
- 94-proof Rye Whiskey and
- 100-proof Limited Edition Straight Rye Whiskey
In November 2020, the Belfours launched their 106-proof Special Edition Straight Rye Whiskey, a tribute to Fighting Sioux fans, which just recently earned a Double Gold in the 2021 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
