DESTINY REVEALED

2009

Ed Belfour retires from a Hall of Fame hockey career and begins to consider his second career. The endless pursuit of learning all things whiskey begins as a trickle that eventually becomes a torrent.

EDUCATION

2016

Ed & Dayn Belfour attend schools in Kentucky and Canada, exploring the finest ingredients and equipment and learning from industry veterans and innovators.

CREATION

2017

During an internship at Woody Creek Distillery in Basalt, Colorado, Dayn Belfour makes Belfour Spirits’ first 12 barrels. They become our Limited Edition Straight Rye Whiskey.

LAUNCH

2019

Belfour Spirits sends its first bottles to shelves, expands into new markets, and begins earning
top awards for packaging and flavor, including Double Gold for its 106-proof Special Edition
Straight Rye Whiskey in the 2021 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

We launched with a premium rye and our thoroughly original bourbon finished with Texas pecan wood. Since then, we’ve added our straight bourbon and award-winning special edition ryes. More to come!
